However you see yourself, this blog is for you and your imaginative expressions.
Send in your nonfiction, fiction, and poetry. Give your take on little known aspects of Sierra Leone’s history, traditional cultures, and everyday life.
Describe your encounters and experiences with fellow citizens and others in and out of the country. With insightful content and innovative techniques, tell a story to delight and enlighten.
- We welcome all writers and materials on other subjects. Still, preference will be given to those pieces that focus on Sierra Leone.
- Fiction and nonfiction submissions this year must be no more than 846 words. The word length honors George Floyd, the African American murdered by Minneapolis police officers.
- Poetry submissions must be no more than 246 words.

- The total word lengths mentioned above include a bio which should be no more than 46 words. Include the following information:
- Your full name and aka or your pen name
- Your career or writing background
- The inspiration or reason for your piece
- Fun fact about you
Here is an example: Sorie Publik, also known as the Inspector, works as a security guard in Yengema, Sierra Leone, and considers himself an occasional poet. “Securing our Diamonds” was written in response to illegal mining. He once held the largest diamond ever found in Sierra Leone.
- All submissions must be original and unpublished. They should also be well-edited and double spaced.
- Use Times New Roman, font size 12.
- Please also include 5 to 10 keywords related to your posts for optimization purposes.
- All submissions will undergo a review.
